well... which do you prefer, or just thinks way much better than the other (windows mobile personaly).
oh, and dont start a flame war...ive had plenty of those as it is.
Palm OS is really for just basic organizing.
Pocket PC is more than just basic organizing. You can use pocket pc for games with hardcore graffix and palm you can use for basic graffix(there are a few games in palm that have decent graffix).
It really depends on what your needs are.
I prefer Palm's simplicity, though I love my Mobile Pro 900 at least as much as my Clie SJ22 :) . Even a cheap Palm offers great performance for basic organizing, but I've reached a point that I need to do more with my handheld. I'd probably buy a Clie TH55 if I could find a browser or other program to read my large store of html tech docs. Documents to Go has been great for Office compaitilibilty, but generally having to convert and maintain a duplicate store of information in palm database format has finally caused me to switch.
I already have some favorite winmobile apps that I use on my MP and I've found replacements for some favorite Palm apps.
An Ipaq 2210 will soon replace my Clie (I use CF) but my dream machine is the upcoming Loox 720.
The only things that gives me pause are the frequent lockups/resets & unreliable alarms I keep hearing about on PPCs. I'm used to my Palms always working, and have only suffered around 11 reset across among the five devices I've owned--this, despite all the software I've tried out over the years and have moved from device to device. I'll find out about the IPAQ soon enough though...
I'd agree with Hemicuda. I loved the simplicity, reliability & battery life of the Palm's I've owned (apart from one Vx whose battery died horribly...no easy user replacement :-(
BUT I can do lots more with my Ax x30high.
Wish the frequent soft resets would stop being needed. Eg if I leave it in the cradle on for an hour or two it hangs....play more than a few games fo jawbreaker, hangs......wind blowing in the wrong direction, yup, you got it - hangs again.
I think I need to bite the bullet & hard reset then put on my preferred apps (I'm new to PPC so have been trying loads of different s/w, & probably the registry is in a less than perfect state. methinks..)
Well I had an Axim X5. I was bored so I sold it and got a Sony Clie NX70v with the built in camera, keyboard, swivel display etc. That lasted 6 months and I sold it. X30 is on order now.
PocketPC is much better in my opinion. Better selection of games, music and video don't need to be converted like PalmOS does and PPC is much better for internet access.
PocketPC is much superior.

I vote both... The pocket pc is an excellent multimedia tool, which features good speed, and great utilites etc. The palm is more like a very advanced organizer, which is also good in its own respects. It is stable, and the battery usually lasts alot longer, but it does less. It is all up to what you need, and i dont see one ever replacing the other!
I have used both Palm and Pocket PC and I must say that I like both. Each has its Pros and Cons. Palm always seemed to respond a little quicker than Pocket PC did but Pocket PC seemed to be more capable. Although now I believe Palm has caught up to Pocket PC in its capabilities.
Bottom line, I like all PDA's.

Dunno, palm's are like something that is very cool but with annoying issues (no file system as such, ok great for when it first came out but migrate to have one now when pda's need one, should have had one in pos 3 if you ask me)
And ppc's are like some evil piece of crap that you use just because no one's made anything better.
Who knows which is better?
TEither does for me, though for the moment I love my axim!
