This isnt Dell exclusive, its the same with every multinational retailer/manufacturer. We (in the UK) generally pay a $1 = £1 so pay anything up to 40% more than an identical product being sold overseas.
As long as you arent worried about warranties and/or peripheral compatibility (power supplies), buy from overseas.

its crazy tho i dont understand why they have to buy $1 to = £1. Petrol prices in america are almost the same everywhere in europe except the UK.
How come bosty washable screen protectors arent good? i think mines a bostic, not sure. had it for 7months and its scratched, doesnt stick properly round the edges, but it saved me about £40 on non washable screen protectors

Are you sure that the cheaper model included all the extra stuff? I got fooled by that to..... Like 240$ without the extra stuff, and 320$ with it.

Mine was a bi*ch to apply, is VERY reflective for a matt finish plastic, and is very "milky", so unless you are in the dark, it is very hard to see the screen properly. Fair play, it works and all that, but I like to be able to see my screen in all lights, not just when the backlight is brighter than the ambient light.

Well... here in Costa Rica $1=C430... so... I would love to buy a PDA for C500 ($1=C1) (a bit more than $1)... in teh other hand... the regular price for a PDA would be around C200000... So I gues We'll never export to UK! Hehehe just kidding!

woah C200,000 is $455. for an x30. im not suprised theres a 2month waiting list for x30s in the US. they cant keep up with the demand and theres no way they could allow themselves to raise the price of any of their products. So the dug themselves a hole there

Maybe we should all support the FTA. Then we'll all pay the same price. Or get the same pay................................
But seriously, it would appear that anyone other than a US is being ripped off.

I do not think that del is ripping of non USA countries. Other countries have different tax structures. I think the VAT tax would explain a lot of the price difference.

Today, the exchange rate is Aussie$1=US$0.71.
Today, the online price for the Axim X30 high on Dell Oz is A$649 shipped. That's US$462. On the US Dell site its US$297 (after a discount of 15%). Assume the tax in the US is 15%, that makes it US$341. That's a difference of US$121.
What then is defined as a rip-off?
