I ordered a new Axim X30 this past Monday(7-19-04). At first I was told that it would be shipped "on or before Thursday, July 22". That seemed fine and normal to me. Well, Thursday rolls around and I receive an email notifying me that(direct quote): "Although we had anticipated being able to ship your order sooner, we are experiencing an unexpected delay with your order and will not be able to ship this order and any associated orders until on or before 08-05-2004." Thats more than two weeks after I ordered it. That seems excessive to me. Does anyone else agree? Or am I thinking unreasonably?

I ordered mine on July 3rd and they expect to ship mine July 29th. I am due for delivery August 3-5. You should consider yourself fortunate.

yeah, you shouldn't feel like you are bad off. Of course it always sucks to think you are getting it sooner than you actually are. I don't know why they originally told you July 22nd as a ship date. I ordered mine on July 12 and it said then, and still does say, "Estimated Ship Date: August 3". Right now it appears that the average turn around from Ordering to Delivering is about a month. It may be getting shorter as Dell may finally be catching up with the demand but I'm not holding my breath. I expect mine around August 10th which puts total turn around time right at 4 weeks. It sucks to wait and wait and wait, especially for me because when I want something badly and have to wait, its practically all I can think about until it finally comes. So I've waited 2 weeks now... man I'm only about half way, this does suck. But then again, I think it will be worth the wait.

Good news, after three phone calls and to e-mail to Dell my X30H shipped today two weeks after I p[laced the order. It should arrive tomorrow.:) :) :) :)
