Mad Rebate runaround!

What a hassle! I got fed-up with trying to deal with the rebate center. I called Dell to complain about it and was told they could credit my account for the $50 in lieu of the rebate. Great! Well, that was almost a month ago. The first time I called to check on it I was told it was processed. No credit ever showed up. I called again, this time I was told there was a mistake and only .01 cent was credited. For my trouble she told me she would make the credit for $75 and that she would expedite it. I was told I would get the credit in 24 to 48 hours. A week later I called to find out where the credit was. It a good thing I wrote down the reference number. There was no record of it on my account. I ask to speak to Manager. This guy Julian told me that the credit department is backed-up a week or so. Well, I just checked for the credit and there is nothing so far. I thought it was great that I got $75 for all the trouble, but I am still waiting for it.
The Axim is a great product but there customer service is really lacking this time. If this was my only experience with Dell I would never go back! They better get it together!!! Also, just being curious I went to the rebate web site to see what was listed there if anything and now it says my rebate was received but not able to process because it was postmarked after the due date. What? I mailed it in December. Boy, those people in the rebate center suck! They don't know which end is up.

The state of Dell Accounting???

How about this series of events... Ordered Axim 300 12/27, told would ship 1/10. Called 1/11 to check; was given ship of 1/27. Express displeasure; promised $50.00 credit to card account once billed and FREE o-nite shipping. Not a bad deal. Received Dell on 1/23. Credit card billed $265.00. My expectation? 265 minus 65 (50 plus 15 shipping) minus rebate = $135.00. Just received credit on card for $190.00. But, haven't received rebate yet! That makes it just about free... But, alas, conscience goet the best of me--Dell will receive a call to take their money back. By the way, I LOVE my Dell! CalPlus and StopTime are excellent additions.
