Way to logon to computer with Thumb Drive instead of password?

Hey,
I just got a thumb drive last night and I was wondering if there is a way to logon to my computer by inserting the thumb drive and it acting like the key to my computer. That would sound really cool. Also if there is a way to do that is there a way to unlock it with the thumb drive as well?

Thanks,
Derek

Hmm does anyone know if there is some kind of script some where that can see if the thumb drive is in and login and if it isnt stay at the login screen? This would be so cool if I could find out a way to do this. Or maybe someone could make it if its not out yet?

I know they make "key drives" that look exactly like a thumb drive, but don't have storage space on them. They've obviously got some kind of software embedded in them that handles the "key" functioality of it.

Not sure if you can find any software that allows this on a thumb drive though??

I hope I can find something like that. That would be so cool. Maybe someone could make a program or script or something.

Yeah they have got some "special" thumb drives that do that. But there has got to be some software you can install to transform a regular thumb drive into one.

Big Smile

u can use your HD drive as your key.
take it out every time you go out. and put it back in when u want to use it again.
this way no one will be able to use your pc but you :approve:
