What would you use it for? If you're just looking for a toy, it's probably as good of a buy as any. But technology changes so quickly, if anything goes wrong with it (besides the broken on/off switch) you'd be hard pressed to get it repaired.

I wouldn't buy it neither - heard that battery life is terrible on that thing. If you want a really basic organizer, check out the Vx - it will do the BASIC stuff that the IIIc will do, without the color. You really acn't do much on a IIIc...

Personally, i rather spent some extra money on a bare minimum PDA with OS5, or a used pocket pc (e.g. ipaq 1940, 2010), they're under $200, and will at least be able to run the majority of current software.

i have a iiic, and the battery life is GOOD. i get usage in the double digits every time... id say maybe 18... no where the 2 1/2 of my x3i... although it can only do about 1/1000000000th of the stuff my ax can do
