I made a carreer change a few years back just before turning 40. I took the money offered from the company that I was working for, return to school full time for a year and I am doing what my heart wanted. If you have a settlement ($) consider working for yourself. A small Printing shop, Bed & Breakfast, computer consulting etc... Whatever your decision is make sure you will be happy doing this as it may be your last change before retirement. Good luck and let us know what you are planning. :approve:

Doing what you like for a job is so important. I've genuinely loved my work all my life. About to turn 30 and working in I.T. Considering how many people I know who don't love or don't even like their jobs, I feel lucky. But now I'm getting a little tired of it I think. The problem is that the money is too good to allow me to do something else that I'd enjoy more.

Still - hopefully after a few more weeks of vacation I'll be back in the right frame of mind again...

There's a few more things for me to iron out - But my plan is finish work next friday. 3 month break until a few of my mates finish their notices and............

We are starting our own Driver training agency. This will cover PCV's (Buses) , LGV's (Artic's) , Fork Lifts and Car.

This will start with 4 of us running the company - we already have a coach (4 years old) and Fork Lift truck arranged - The LGV will be delivered in mid February at the end of its contract with Royal Mail.

We just have to locate storage premises for the vehicles - As all off road training will be carried out at first in the Annex on my house.

Howard I agree with you on the fact it is so hard to give up a well paid job but given that I had found myself in a position (because of promotion) that I really didn't like and given the grotesquely large sum they are prepaired to pay me for redundancy. I decided to allow a younger person to have my position - it would have been so easy to just sit there and carry on with the job.

We are all looking forward to this oppertunity and already have 4 major contracts arranged for start in June.

As the TV series says ' this time next year we'll be millionaires'
(I'm sure Rob knows what program that is)

My wife and I actually watched three Christmas specials back-to-back on New Years day as we were so hung over

Good luck in your new venture (and enjoy your holidays :approve: )
