Hello,
I reinstalled Windows XP and use MSN Messenger. I don't want Windows Messenger. I tried uninstalling it in Add/Remove Programs under Windows components and can't seem to get rid of it. I tried rebooting also. Does anyone know how to uninstall it for good?

make sure it is not set to start when windows starts under options

also try renaming its folder (in C:\Program Files rename the messenger folder to anything) , this makes it so it wont start with Outlook express :)

Thanks. I checked the options and set it to not start. You would think it wouldnt since I uninstalled it under Windows Components. I also renamed it in the Program files. Thanks a lot Grentz!

did you go into msconfig an uncheck it? if not then go to Start> Run> type msconfig> click OK> go to the startup tab> find the item for it and uncheck it> click ok and restart.
