Warranty woes.........

Ok, on March 09, 2003, my Axim was determined to be defective. (The stylus just quits working until you hard reset it.) They told me they would send a replacement. My warranty states next business day replacement. That would mean I SHOULD have had my new Axim on Tuesday. According to the site, it's scheduled to ship on the 17th!!!!! That is NOT next business day. Not a very good or smart move. I've run my own business before and if I couldn't support what I had in writing, I wouldn't state it.

Overall, I'm happy with my Dell but this has put a VERY tainted view in my mind and perspective of how they treat their customers. Not a very smart business move at all.

Mayoke,

I do understand your frustration, but you have to understand that Dell is doing their absolute best to fill the demand for this product. As you can see in the forum, we're bustling at the britches with over 8,000+ members (a figure that has increased sixfold over the last 2 1/2 months) and if this is any indication of growth, Dell had sold over 50,000 units (estimated) in EARLY February.

I know this is NO exception to the fact that they can't provide the units, but the response has just been so much more than they could have EVER expected, even more than what I expected!

I know this is no consolation, but I hope it puts things into perspective.

Nick

I understand and believe it or not am actually happy for Dell that this is happening. It's good to see a company "strike gold" with a producy. I know the feeling.....honestly.

I received an explanation from Dell that next business day replacement means they ship it overnight and nothing more. It should state that in the warranty instead. This still does not give me any warm fuzzies. As it stands now, I've shelled out $352 for a unit that worked for 2-3 weeks and I can't use and will be without for 9 days or so. When I ordered my unit initially, I got it in 4 days. Also, I have a business trip that this would GREATLY benefit me in having but as it stands now, I'll be solo.

Thank you for the reply, I just wish it did something to ease the pain. Unfortunately, it is just not making this any better for me.
