What am I doing wrong? 25% off x50
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.. I went to dell.com and put a 520mhz x50 into my shopping cart and then entered a valid x50 coupon for 25% off from dellf - I'm sure it was valid because I know what happens when you enter an invalid coupon. The coupon doesnt take any money off but instead says
Coupons Entered
The following coupons have been entered but require additional information or do not meet eligibility requirements. Click "View Details" link(s) for more information.
Dell Home Customers: Save 25% off any Axim X50!
Limited Time Offer! View Details Remove Coupon
It's as if I cant get rid of dell's 15% automatic savings and use my dellf coupon code instead!
Please let me know what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks
-Bill

hmm
so... i can use a $30 off $300 purchase code, but not the 25% off any axim x50? i really dont understand why these coupons are awarded as prizes if dell is going to keep their automatic 15% sale going on and not allow us to enter in a 25% code.

Maybe you should call Dell. I got my X50 about a month ago for 25% off. At the time, 15% off was the current sale price without using a coupon, like with your attempted purchase.

I had the same problem when i tried to buy from Small Business. You should by from Home & Home office category(Dell Home Customers)( http://www1.us.dell.com/content/defa...=19&l=en&s=dhs). 15% automatic savings don't prevent from using a 25% coupin.
Maybe it's your case

I have used my 25% off coupon from Dellf to buy a X50Mid for my friend. There was a 15% discount that was going on at that time. After I put in my 25% code, the system automatically removed the 15% code and applied my 25% code on the base price of $399 and the final price for X50Mid came to $299.25. :approve:
I did the purchase from Dell Home and did not go through any affiliate link. Pretty sure that the code can be used only in Dell Home and not in Dell Business section. Don't know whether going through an affiliate link would matter, don't think so.
If nothing else works, just call up Dell and ask them to apply this 25% coupon against your purchase. Try haggling for a lower price from that point. I have read posts in this forum where people have managed to get a good deal after talking with some good Dell representative.

An affiliate link matters. I've checked.

actually..
actually, it matters how you get to the checkout from dell's site. i had been going to dell.com and searching for axim in the upper right search bar. if you do it that way, it wont let you apply the coupon. only by somehow getting to dell's axim/portables section of their site (i had to search for axim and then instead of clicking on one of the results, i had to click on the menu that subsequently appeared on their web page at the top, where you can choose laptops, desktops, portables, then portables dropped down to let me choose axims. then when i wanted to add an axim i clicked customize my axim or something. finally got it to accept my coupon but it sure is strage how i had to get it to work.
