Searching For Software

Hi, I am new to PPC's and just got an AximX50V (last week). My main reason for this was to keep track of all the medical appointments, and records for my wife. (She has been ill for about 4 years now and not worked in 3.5, keeping track of everything was becoming another full time job). Anyway my ideal sofware would be something like this.

One Page (or database) for "Doctors Offices"
Would include, "Office Name", "Doctor Name", "Specialty", "Address", "Phone Number", "First Appointment" "Currently Seeing (with old appointment dates)", "Tests Ordered", and "Medication Prescribed"

Another Page (or database) for "Medication"
Would include, "Name of medication", "Starting Dosage", "Current Dosage", "Date Started", and "Date Ended, or Still Taking"

Last Page (or database) for "Surgeries or Procedures"
Would include, "Location (Hospital/Dr. Office), "Date of Procedure", "Complications", and "Doctor Who Performed Procedure".

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Glenn

One of my favorite medical sites is Handheldmed.com

My least favorite is Skyscape (difficult to uninstall all the software that it installs)

There are some other medical sites that offer free software too. Search this forum and google.

I'm sorry for the position that you're in. I would do anything to switch places with my wife when she's sick. It's miserable when your loved ones aren't well.

I think that the easiest way to track this information is just with a spread sheet. You could update it on your PC, and sync it to your Axim.

I threw a spread sheet together for you. If you'd like it, email me, as I don't see how to post it.

Always remember the K.I.S.S. principle -> Keep It Simple Stupid, life hard enough on its own.

Axim1910 put together a spreadsheet, am sure it was in Excel. Excel is a very powerfull and under appriciated piece of software. It will keep and do it very well, almost any kind of a data base or list. I use it for a lot. of things, don't use it for my Checkbook but did at one time and it worked very well, just that Quicken and SpbFinance-Quicken does it much more painlessly.

axim1910, thanks for your comments. If you would, please do email it to me and I will deff take a look at it. I wish I knew how to use some of Microsofts programs a bit better than I do.

What format would it be in?

Thanks
Glenn

Glenn-
Happy New Year!
The file in question is a pocket Excel file - so you'll be able to load it on to your Axim and go with it.

Admittedly, this is not an end-all do-all solution. It's just a simple, potential solution to your situation.

I wouldn't have given up my PDA during my grandmother's hospital stay - it helped to keep her doctors (and us) honest and on the same page.

Glenn, I'll send that file to you shortly...
