Mac Users with Axim's

Just wondering, am I the only lonely soul with an x50v out there?

We need a support group!

Hello to us Mac users

I love my Macs. I just got a reply from PocketMac about how to switch back and forth between VirtualPC and PocketMac. (Here is the URL: http://www.pocketmac.net/support/profaq/faq9.htm#9.5)

I tried Missing sync and paid for it but went to PocketMac and am happier.

I loaded Betaplayer yesterday and it plays unlocked AAC files (Use Jhymn to unlock iTunes files: http://www.hymn-project.org/download..._0_5_0_mac.zip)

However, with the cost of flash memory, it seems more cost effective to buy a 20-gig iPod for music.

You are not alone.

I've just got my x50v but tried the pocketmac demo unsuccessfully....didn't recognise the axim and the OS slowed down significantly with Safari freezing repeatedly. Tried all the usual tricks but only resolved on uninstalling the demo and manually removing the remaining files.
Maybe the full version would be better but I think I'll give Missing Sync a try.

I have G4 iMac 10.3.7

I've gotten active sync to install in VPC7. It sat at 92% for quite a while (15-30 minutes). Take a break and let it sit. Others have had this problem and letting it sit for a while works for others too.

I've posted a poll asking if people want a separate Mac forum--mixed response so far--12 yes, 12 no. See the poll at the Site Troubles/Suggestions forum. Based on that response I doubt that there will be a Mac-unique forum on aximsite.com.

Finally, I've found some Virtual PC and activesync tips at:

http://homepage.mac.com/WebObjects/F...cty=US&lang=en

Still waiting for my x50v (ordered in late-October), maybe tomorrow...

Mac user here. :) I use Missing Sync. It's annoying me right now with not syncing exceptions to repeating appointments. :/

ActiveStink at 92%. Try to shut down. That'll wake it up.

My main computers are macs at work and home but I do have a pc and I use that for my syncing at work. I tried both mac sync packages long ago with my old Toshiba e740 and neither were all that good. I haven't tried lately, they may be better now.

Anyway you're not alone as a mac and X50v owner! :-)

Mac User here, too! :)

No luck with PocketMac Lite. They've supposedly worked the bugs out of PocketMac Pro for the X50v, but it's been about three weeks of back & forth with tech support and no resolution.

I've been using my CF card to exchange data and when I have to install S/W via active sync or create a MSReader lit format eBook, I've been using my old eMachines 266 Celery running Win98--blech!!!

Other than that, I've been doing great in terms of using the Mac to capture TV shows & compress 'em to MPEG-4 & DIVX.

Hey, I am here too! I didn't even think about using my X50v with my Mac. I have a PC too, so I just hooked it up to that. I use both platforms. I like to be... flexible? :-)

Missing Sync

I finally got an iBook a month ago and have had absolutely no problems using my X50v with Missing Sync. They are great about answering questions as well. I would ask for a refund with PocketMac as I have never had any good results with them and always use Missing Sync. Just my thoughts...

My x50v is listed as "in transit", so chalk up another Mac user soon.

I had an iPaq 3950 for a few days (returned it) and tried mostly via VPC and Active Sync. Intially I swore, cussed, and tore my hair out, but then it started working. Will have to use an OS X sync tool with the x50v b/c I want to sync with (and start using) iCal. Also hoping to sync tasks/file (but not sure what tasks correlate to on the Mac side?...)

A tad leary about having to use a Windows product, but hoping it'll be less frustrating than I fear (Apple still refuses to make a PDA, and the Linux Zaurus C3000 is too uncertain for me to risk right now).

Anyway, cautiously optimistic that I'll find this device really useful.

Should be able to contribute more in a week or so when it shows up.
