Please list all the PPC or Palm devices you have had over the years and any comments about them.
Here are mine in order from my first to my latest:
Casio E-100 (Pocket brick that reminds me of the very first Walkmans.)
IBM Thinkpad (Workpad) Z-50 (Palmtop in a sub laptop size. Cool idea but too slow and not enough memory. Bought a Thinkpad 240 laptop that was the same size, but was light years faster.)
Palm IIIxe (Not bad at all. Sold it on eBay to get an Ipaq when they came out.)
Ipaq 3630 (Used it for around 3 years till the battery would not recharge anymore. Hair-fishing for dust was one drawback. Vaja case made it thin enough for daily carry, but belt clip nub on the case was painful sometimes against the thigh. I still have it and may turn it into a car mp3 player at some point.)
Palm M-100 (Stopgap after the Ipaq bit the dust, not as nice as the Palm IIIxe. Never used the SD slot at all. Still have it as well but it's collecting dust.)
Axim V50 mid (This thing does everything I want it to and more.)
Can't recall what model the first one was as it was given to me as a gift. All I know is I kept it for about two weeks and returned it. I didn't care much for the black and white screen and it didn't seem like anything more than an electronic phone book.
The second was a Palm V. Had it for a little over a year. Another gift, but better than the first Palm. Used it mostly to keep track of work related items and contacts since I was able to sync it with our work systems.
The third was a Palm IIIc that I had for several years. It was my first PDA with a color screen. When I bought it, it came with the attachable camera. That was a good selling point for me as it was my first digital camera :)
Now, I have my X3i. Talk about a jump up from the Palm IIIc. This is my first PPC and I know I will not be going back to the Palm platform after seeing what this is capable of.
Lets see...started with the Apple Newton, then the Casio Zoomer, then a Palm Pilot, Palm M500, then a casio e-110, casio e-125, Ipaq 3600, Sony Clie nx70v, Dell Axim x5, Ipaq 1910, Ipaq 4700, Axim x50v...
Ive had a few others but usually only for a few weeks till I decided I didnt like them.
I had some cheapie PDAs but the first real one was my Casio EM-500 (still have it), the an X5 400 (sold), and now my beautiful 4150.
I remember those early Ipaq horror stories. Dust problems, battery problems, battery door problems, stylus catch problems etc. Yet they still sold thousands!!!
