But then you go on to defend the remark below, expressing your feelings as fact.

Which you belive to be MOST Christians?

To generalize Christians as being the most tolerant and understanding of people is, unfortunately, far from the truth.
You've misunderstood me. I didn't say that Christians are the most tolerant and understand, etc. I said that most Christians are tolerant and understand. There is a big, big difference.

Of course not. Everybody always believes that they are the exception. And yet, you defend your views by citing anecdotal evidence based on your personal interactions.

I work with another Christian who talks about how she wants to cheat on her husband with the messenger boy who comes into the office. I work with another Christian who condemns homosexuals and states that they're all going to hell and how they're all sinners, yet she is proud of the fact that she sleeps with more men than she can keep track of.
I'm only saying that those interactions are no more representative of 'most christians' than they are of most people in general. In other words it's not a christian phenomenon you're witnessing, it's a human pehnomenon. Look around. The Christians aren't the only ones doing those things. So way extrapolate the behavior only to Christisans?

You're right. We need something to believe. Everybody does, including the unorganized/non-religious. Even you need something to believe even if that belief is, for example, that there is no God. But if you're implying that followers of any organized religion blindly accept what they're told and act on it accordingly, again, speaking in broad, all-encompassing terms you're wrong. Yes, it's true of some, no it's not true of all. The same is true of people with respect to any beliefs, religious or otherwise. Some people accept what they're told and plod blindly on, others question. Where you and I disagree is the extent.

I'd like to know what the paper is basing that statment on. I find it highly suspect. Mainly because I think ANY president would be foolish to actively support such a radical piece of legislation. If he did I'd like the hear the quote, or see the transcript. My guess is they're putting words in his mouth.

Without any reference to any passage in the bible, they need to ask themselves why they think gay people are so wrong and so immoral (and give up the whole "they don't procreate, so it's just wrong" excuse. There are plenty of straight working families that don't have children... are they damned to hell as well?)
You're right about what the "fanatics" should do. I think they're incapable. I'm not a fanatic. I'm always questioning.

Well, whether you wanted to or not, thanks for a lively debate.

I was just wondering how much intelligence it took to press your face against a piece of glass and take a picture?

Haha... good question... I'm thinking that kid is kinda funny, though... I wonder how old he is now. I'm 28 now, so I'm a bit old for that kinda stuff :approve: Gotta love google image searches to find icon material.

(mutters under breath...)
