info about MS Platform Builder

Is is possible to build an image using the platform builder from Mircosoft(either 4.2 or 5.0) and then boot it on an Axim?
I want to create an embedded application with WinCE and use a PDA as the hardware platform. The only extra functionality that I need is wireless support.
So is it possible to compile my own version of Windows Mobile and run it on the PDA?

In theory, Yes, but I have not found any documentation after a long search. I would love to be able to ditch parts of teh rom I don't use, and replace them with things that are actually usefull to me.

lastnightout,

That would likely not work. Each PDA manufacturer makes a custom image that will work with their device. Usually the differences between the manufacturer's build and Microsoft's build is the addition of drivers/components that allow the OS to work properly with the hardware used in the particular device that it will be installed on. Without having access to those particular drivers/components to add into a build, it would be very hard to get your own build to work properly.

I'm not saying its impossible... but it would likely require getting involved with Dell. Otherwise you would have to write the drivers yourself in order to get it working, which would require a working knowledge of the Axim's hardware components.
