Well actually, that's my first name.. and a fake last name. It's my name AND a back to the future reference, all rolled in to one. My real last name is a bit particular ;)

And I'm looking for a Post I made to Frenchy about how to make scrollable links, but there seems to be a problem with the Search DB right now.

Guess I'll have to write it up again for you. BRB!

And I've kinda sorta figured out a way to link to post with the whole thread.. but let me ask, is there an easy link to just copy and paste, or does it involve a bit of piecing together?

I think I got it...

If you just copy the link from the post # it will only show the single post when you click on the link. However, if you add "#post(post number)" such as "#post601535" then it will show the relavent posts.

So, the whole link to MrK's previous post would be...

"http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?p=601533#post601533"

This is much easier if you have a MultiClipboard, but this will accomplish it for you:

1) Open a Notepad document and Paste the following onto it and Double Space:

http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...XXX#postXXXXXX

2) Go to the Post you want to link to and Right Click on the Post # in the upper left > Copy Shortcut > Paste to Notepad document.

3) (Using your original question Post as an example) http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showp...6&postcount=10

4) Copy the number after p=.....(601506)

5) Highlight the "X"es in the first link above and Paste this number into both locations.

6) Copy this new link and use it as the Referred To Link in your new Post.

7) When clicked on it will take the reader to that Post, but the Page is now scrollable.

THIS is how it works.


I suggest creating a Notepad Document with only the XXXXX Link on the first line with a Double Space, save it somewhere you can get to it readily and make it Read Only. That way you can make your changes and copy your new link from it, close it and it will be ready for the next use. Could even put a Short Cut to it on your Quick Launch Bar and it's really easy to fire it up and go!
