God How I Hate PayPal...

WARNING: RANT!

Hi Guys/Gals,

I'm just so pissed right now and I need to vent so please excuse me. I transferred a couple of hundred dollars into my PayPal account so that I could buy some things for my Axim, namely a BT keyboard, a BT mouse and some BT headphones... but PayPal is holding my funds "hostage".

I could Western Union a Russian eBay scammer quicker than I could get my d@mn money from these morons. READ: MY MONEY! It's "lost" somewhere in cyberspace, or in a PayPal employee's pockets. I just called up these PayPal script jockeys and they "don't know what the hold up is" and that I'm "not the only person with this problem as quite a few others have complained about missing funds" recently and that the PayPal AWOL funds problem should be resolved "soon" but they couldn't do anything about it! I was told to "wait until Monday". What kind of service is that?? Literally HUNDREDS of my hard earned cash has gone missing and all they can tell me is "wait until Monday"?!?

Man, PayPal is on my Sh*t List right now. Has anyone else had problems like this with PayPal?

Sorry again for the rant, but I'm really pissed off right now. :(

I've always had reliable service from Paypal, and there was even one situation where they credited me some money for downtime on their part (and I hadn't even used the service in that time period).

It's been a good way to handle online purchases and sales, including our current apparel sale.

I have also had great luck with PayPal. It is super easy and secure to transfer funds over the internet is and so much better than any other service out there. Remember they are a company though and everyone makes mistakes, they cant be perfect . I had one money issue with them and they credited it back and even compenstated me

I've never had a problem with PayPal, used it for over five years, thousands of dollars worth of purchases.

BUT!!..........I keep no funds in the account, all my purchases are Instant Transfers withdrawn from a Debit Card that I transfer only the amount needed for the purchase from my normal Bank Account.

Thanks for the reassurances guys/gals, but I, unfortunately am getting burned by PayPal and, as PayPal has even admitted, are a bunch of other people currently.

Mr.K, that's typically what I do too, but for some reason I transferred over hundreds of dollars in preperation of immediately purchasing some expensive BT items this week and I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I wasn't sure if a "direct transfer" would work on any other site except eBay so I didn't want to take the chance and mistakenly decided to transfer the money from my linked checking account. BIG MISTAKE!

I'll be using PayPal a Hell of a lot less from now on. And I'll be d@mn sure not to transfer my hard earned cash over to those guys. I HIGHLY doubt they'll compansate me for my lost time or the little interest their earning while my money is hanging in "limbo".

Sorry for your hassle, FallN!

I haven't had any trouble with them either, but in this day and age, the potential for problems with credit cards, debits cards, etc. is probably lurking just around the corner.

When you get this settled, though, and you receive your BT stuff, you will feel a lot better. :approve:

The only time I use paypal is on Aximsite, donations, t-shirts, & fantasy football. Why don't you just buy the stuff with a credit card? Than you can always call the card company and get any merchant issues taken care of.

Same here, I like PayPal and I use it the same way. No way I'd let PayPal 'hold' my money. They're no bank, haha. I don't trust them that much. Whenever I pay for something with PayPal, they just automatically transfer from my bank the exact amount and its a done deal.

It was annoying how echeck funds were gone from my bank account the same day I sent the check, but it took them three to four days to run the money through their system. I just use my credit cards through them now. Payment is instant if you have a credit or debit card on file, but 3 to 4 days is ridiculous.

On the other hand, a guy tried to take my money and then never respond to emails, but they recovered the funds within a week.

doesn't paypal take time to clear your funds? small amounts they wont check but if its a large amount they will clear it.

i usually buy expensive stuff locally with my credit card instead of paypal charging the CC for me.

PayPal isn't my favorite method of payment, but online especially on eBay it's one of the safest. I do NOT give PayPal my credit card info. That's like writing them a blank check! There is a limited amount of funds in the checking account linked to PayPal (I have 2 checking accounts- one small one for things like PayPal and a main one that my check and major money gets depostited into, I will NOT link my main account to PayPal), but my credit card has a pretty steep limit and only God know how long it'll take for them to catch it and credit me. (You know if you don't catch fraud within a given amount of time (check your bank/credit card company), the credit card issuer or bank can still hold you responsible for some or even ALL of the fraudulent charges?)

Either way, PayPal finally credited my account, but now I'm having a whole sort of problems of another kind with a purchase I made. I'll be posting about it soon.
