80Gb 5400. Couldnt check the HDD cache. However, no problem handling 2 large files (over 500) quietly, quickly.
p.s. This new sonoma, awesome heat dispense, quiet. All I hear is the washroom fan.

Very light, feels like less than 4 lbs. battery is good for around 2.5 hours (2:30) @ normal setting.
PCI-E GF 6600 with dedicated 128 DDR 3 ram.
harman kardon speakers -> I was surprised.
without starting the laptop, u can play a linux (Instelled on hdd) media player. less than 10 seconds to get ready. -> didnt test a dvd yet, was busy playing hl2.
can run HL2 @ maxed out settings incl. 4x AA, 16x AF. with vsync off.
