Welcome to the site!

"Programatically" I think you need to find a word that actualy exists.

No, there is no way to turn it on through the software that comes with the device. Though that isn't all that crazy as many devices have features that can only be accessed with a hardware button.

There must be a way

Sorry for my English - it's not so well ;)
At the turning on wifi programmatically -> there MUST be a way how to do this - there is no hardware button (although one is mapped to do that). There is software becomes with Axim X30 which turning the wifi on and of.

Look in the Windows directory for a .lnk or .exe with something like wireless in the name. On my X3i, it's called WirelessPower.exe. Hope this helps.

It helps, but

It helps ;o) - I found also the WiFiPower clone of this program on the net, but it displays WIFI dialog. The better will be when I could turn it on silently without user dialog and with some control (there could happen, that by executing this file i turn wifi off, although i wanna turn it on). Do you have another Idea? (the executing wifipower file is good enough, but if there will be a better solution, it will by great).

Nope that's the only way I know of, but I've never looked for anything else because that works fine for me.
