Ever wondered where the name "Axim" came from? It came from history!
http://www.kingdomofbiffeche.net/axim-home.htm
And there was a link within that page to the "Ashanti" kingdom (but page not found error for me at least). Now, Ashanti is also a fast BiCMOS CPU that was a big deal many years ago. It was one of the fastest CPUs back then, and it was very dificult to cool (electricity likes to leak right through the BiCMOS circuits, generating heat, and BiCMOS is more sensitive to heat than plain CMOS. Water cooling was often used as a result.).
Nowadays, the Xscale CPU used in many PDAs including the Dell Axim uses less than a watt of power and is easily as fast as some of the of the Ashanti workstation CPUs.
This is quite interesting. The Dell Axim has a CPU that is as fast as an Ashanti CPU, and both Axim and Ashanti were originally names of kingdoms. Was there a subliminal message within that page (an "Easter Egg" if you will) or was it pure coincidence?
