Thanks to a member here (cjordan), I recieved a gmail account last week. Now, it's my turn to give back to the members of this site.

The rules are simple. Post a story of the geekiest thing that you have ever done. Thats it! The winner that I choose will get an invitation sent to them via email to get any @gmail.com email address of their choosing (That Hasn't already been taken.)

For those of ou who don't have a clue what gmail is Click Here.

Good Luck!!!

Brian

Did you do anything to get the invite to give? I haven't gotten one yet.

And how many invites did you get to give?

Guess I'll just have to wait.

*Goes to inbox and hits F5 repeatedly*

You using it? A friend of mine didn't get it until he was using it for email. When it just sat there it didn't give him any invites.

Yeah, good idea cagey. Off do to that now...

I think the thread has gone far enough off it's path. So, back on topic...

My geekiest moment happens every day when I pull out my X3i to check email.

I have too many geek things that I have done. Two come to mind:

Early 80's. A friend and I co-hosted a BBS. I dialed into the system (located in his bedroom) at about 3am, uploaded some wav files that I had created and proceeded to execute them so they played through his speakers. It took him 40 minutes to figure out where the sounds were coming from. Later on he tells me that he was scared the heck out of him. (He didn't know his system had sound!)

Currently - Working with another friend to intergrate a wireless setup with his BMW that he bought in Germany. He already has a PPC device built into the car and a 6" LCD in dash. He wants his car to sync automatically with his DVR setup (while parked in his garage) so he can take his video on the go. Other benefits include wardriving, further intergration of GPS, etc.
