Mad and another english rom update, why does Dell not care about other customers ?

I think this is not funny anymore for me. I sit here and have my buggy x50v with shit german ROM A00. Dell releases every 4 weeks english ROM updates, and it's not possible for DELL to release a german update.

It was the first Time I ordered from Dell, but this was definetly the last time. After 4 Pocket PC's from HP, this is the worst customer support I have ever seen.

I hope I can prevent my friends from buying something from DELL.

Cheers and good-bye

Maybe, just maybe Dell knew the A03 rom was imminent, and decided it wouldn't be worthwhile translating the A02 into umpteen languages, knowing they'd have to do the same again for A03 a few weeks later...

You guys are lucky = they are just experimenting with the code on the english customers - Once they get it right you will get the non-problematic version.

Avner, surely you jest!
Eyron has a tough enough time and it's their program for support!

case in point. On my targus IR universal keyoard, Targus doesn't even know that it can support hebrew!!! :rolling:

But I have yet to see ANY palm who gives the Hebrew language REAL support!

Alright, this is interesting... out of all the companies selling Pocket PCs (many of them only in Europe), you pick the one headquartered in TEXAS? No offense meant to anyone here, but did you really expect foreign language support to be as good as English support?

Maybe it makes sense for Dell to focus on the American market, since most other OEMs are selling exclusively in Europe or Asia. It has pretty much come down to a choice between HP and Dell for the yankees.

As for Israel, I'm not surprised at the lack of Stowaway Hebrew support... Hebrew is a non-latin language requiring a completely new character set. We're not just talking about a couple of accents here and there...

Or maybe, I dunno, has Stowaway decided to boycott Israel, like many companies once did to protest apartheid in South Africa?

Oh yeah... I DO expect a verry good support for (in my case German) other languages!
First of all Dell has here in Europe many Customers and the Customers PAY VERY WELL for the Dell products (more than in the US)! So at least I can expect a good support from a Wordwide Concern!
And belive me... I didnīt buy this thing because itīs from an US company...

Sorry, but I'm sure even Dell knows that world is a little bit more than Texas.

I did not order my x50v in Texas, I ordered it here.
Dell sells Pocket PC's in every different language in Europe. If they sell their products here and earn money here, then I can expect a little bit more customer support, like they did before with x5 or x30i.
As I can see they released updates for the x30 at about 4 weeks after the original english-rom. Why is this not possible for the x50v.

[Sigh] Are you suggesting that
1)American products should be embargoed untill the companies involved can provide equal support?
2) Europeans should boycot products from America?
3) Americans are so blinkered that they can't see beyond the end of their noses?
4) Dell shouldn't be a global supplier because other countries aren't in America?
or
5) that Dell PDAs are in some way made in America by an American company?

Because all of those ideas are wrong (and deeply stupid).

So what exactly was your point again???
