So today i went to Target (like walmart, kmart, etc.) to buy Forza Motorsport for xbox. I purchased it fine, got home and went to put it in my xbox. I opened up the srink wrap, then took of the Certificate of Authanticity on the side (like on all Microsoft Xbox Games) then put it in the disk tray.
I waited and nothing happened, then it said disk error. I opened up the tray to look at the disk and the bottom had a HUGE gash i had not noticed before (as i did not look as i was so excited to start playing). After closer inspection, i notcied that the inner plastic part where the xbox holigram usually is, had neato written on it....then i look at the label, it looked faded and sure enough, it was a printed label on a CDR neato disk!!!!
Also after looking closer at the COA on the side, i noticed it had been cut perfectly...so someone must have bought it, copied the label and put it on a neato disk, then gashed it and put it back in the case, and then reshrink wrapped it and returned it....
In my mind there is no other explaination as the COA is genuine and so is the case and book.....
So now i have to go to target tomorrow and see what i can do
TWICE I've had PS2 games on blank discs. I only have probably 10 games. One of the discs had the black underside but the manufacturer DVD label on the top, the other looked like it had not been processed at all but had the game screen printing.
I think both were manufacturing defects, but I didn't even bother trying to fight the battle of returning them.
Sometimes I think it's worth opening up the game in the store...

ok, just got back from the store. They had no problem giving me a replacement (this time they opened it to make sure it was real)
I did notice one way you could tell the difference between the fake and real. The shrink wrap on the fake was smooth with just a line on one end. The real xbox game had the shrink wrap plastic folded at the ends. Sounds dumb but i could tell right away with them side by side. Very very wierd, the target person thought so too. It was wierd also as the case and book where real with a real seal on the side, just the disc and shrink wrap was fake. Anyways, all fixed now, and what a great game!!!
I've never had that happened to me, and I have quite a few of them.
The DVD's I get, they always have white tape around it that says "Security Device Enclosed", that tape would be hard to get your hands on, you'd think they would use that on xbox games, but Grentz knows best.
