Question Windows Media Center

Hey, I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post but this but since it is not Handheld centric I didn't feel it was appropriate else where.

Has anyone installed WMC? I am very interested in this software now as the new XBox will be a WMExtender. I don't want or intend on purchasing a new machine from Dell or anyone like that ( I build my own) and I don't have a powerful SPARE machine so if I did this I would have to run it on my primary system.
There are couple ways I thought about this. One of them depends on the functionality of WMC. Is it truly a regular implimentation of XP (Pro?) or is it a crippled Xp with WMC added on?
If it is a fully working XP OS I could just replace my existing XP implimentation. I know my machine could handle it. I currently record video from my satellite on my machine and tha tworks very well. I just would love to be able to play content from my machine downstairs and since I'm going to buy the XBOX 360 it would be a good fit.

I know there are other issues I need to bring up but this is a start.
Please join in, even if you don't have any answers, ask your questions and somehow we'll get them all answered.

Regards,

Sorahl

One of the (few) things i know about Windows Media Center is that it is very pickey about what TV hardware it likes. Make sure the TV tuner you choose is supported before you splash the cash on it

I have xp MCE 2005, i can answer whatever questions you have.

It is XP pro SP2 + a few extras, its in no way crippled...

Any TV tuner will work with the correct drivers, but only certain ones will work with the Microsoft bundled media center.
