nm about the task man thing. i closed and opened it again and its fine now.

ive noticed before that if the virt mem runs out that a popup comes and says that it'll add more size or something. is it that it reached the maX?

That's pretty much what it means. Since it looks like you've dedicated an 8g drive to the task, if it was me I'd just set the min/max to, say, 4g and never worry about it again.

Also, how often do you defrag? Whenever I notice my system getting sluggish, I defrag; it can do wonders.

Noisy Crow's advise is the best, though, if you can afford it; give it a dose of RAM.

i recieved this computer in feb so a little less than 6 months. never defraged, just gonna do a restore to factory settings soon.

i set my virt mem to just under 1 gig(inititial) and 2 gig(max) and so far no problems. no popups. and the puter is actually up and running without any sluggish.
