I think Wonka will be worth watching, if for no other reason to see what take they do on it. There was an interview in the paper where Depp Denied that his character was based on Jackson.....

A point of order kind of question: Is attributing a quote from a movie that was originally in a book allowed? If not, what is the penalty?
"Lonesome Dove"... "A man who wouldn't cheat for a poke don't want one bad enough."
"The Big Lebowski"..."Like, man....."
"Vanilla Sky"
"Bad Santa"...Billy Bob should run for Prez
I do like him in befuddled (Scisorhands) and possibly bemused (upcoming Wonka) modes!

When swaggering, he's just too full of himself.
(or full of something, anyways).
I thought the same, as I don't usually care for that type of movie... but some friends decided to stick it in the DVD player last summer and I watched it. It wasn't Depp at his best by any means, but it was a lot better than I thought it would be.

Man on Fire - just ripped at my emotions
Always - sentimentality
* there's more that are noteworthy of course, but these 2 get to something inside me......

Nobody has mentioned Napoleon Dynamite . . . you either love it or hate it . . . I happened to love it.
I was amazingly one of the few "in between" people on this movie. It was pretty funny at times, but a little too slow of a pace. I'll definitely watch it again, but I don't "love it" by any means.

I didn't want to start a new thread but I just saw a hilarious movie, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. I was expecting a stupid, mindless movie and was happily surprised to get a glimpse of life through the eyes of people who come from different places than me. Very funny, and if you think about it, very intelligent as well.
