Need procedure tracking app for residency

Anybody have a decent app for tracking and logging procedures? I'm a resident and need something ASAP. Anybody?

And yes, I've spent hours googling and searching. I'm trying to find some freeware, but a good commercial app is also welcome.

Usuallly medical residents have to do a certain number of different types of medical procedures. Like they'll have to do x number of lumbar punctures and y number of central lines, and so on for a bunch of different things. I'm not sure what specialty ggsmoothster is in. But I'm guessing he/she wants to track how many of each required thing he/she does so as to get credit for them.

I don't know of any software for that, but you might try asking at one of the med-specific boards (mentioned in other posts on here) that get more traffic than this subforum. You could also just set up an excel document if you just need something crude, but that wouldn't work so well if you needed to document the date/time, or patient, or really anything other than just a tally.

Thanks Superlauren.
I'm a family practice resident so I have to do just about everything. You're right in that I need to track all the things you mentioned, so an Excel doc would be very crude. We have an online system at the hospital for such, but access to the system is not always convenient and I need something to capture the data "bedside". I figured I was a minority demographic (medical resident) but thought someone might be able to help. I'll keep posting and searching.

Pendragon Forms will allow you to make database and an input form. It will transfer to Access. It is fairly expensive, but a great program.

Typhon makes several products for medical patient tracking: http://www.typhongroup.com/products/tracking.htm

Patient Tracker does as well: http://www.patienttracker.com/produc...ttracker.shtml

There are several programs out there, though I don't know of any freeware except the Palm version of Patient Tracker, which no longer seems to be freeware ...

This is an enterprise level patient tracking and billing solution. Sorta an overkill and doesn't track procedures. Thanks for the link though.

You may have already found something by now but this may help. I just finished residency but plan to continue tracking procedures for future priviledging. During residency, I used a Palm and had a very convenient system for it. I just switched to PPC so I am VERY new at this. However, I just found a free database program that allows you to custom-design forms. I have set up a procedure tracking form that is very easy to use with pull-downs, etc. XS Forms is the PPC side and XS designer is the PC form designer. It's pretty easy to use as I figured it out this afternoon. They can be downloaded from www.grandasoft.com with a free registration. I can e-mail you mine if you are interested but I am sure that you will get what you want better by costumizing it for what you need.

I haven't found anything, so this is perfect. Thanks for posting this link. I think I came across it at one time, but it looked expensive. Guess it's free!
