I must be the only 'great peace' veteran here. Not that I mind mind you. War is Hell
and so is the life in the military IMHO. ;-)

You served and probably had the hardest service of all. My condolences on your loss. But my thanks on your service and that of your husbands.

US NAVY 1978 - 1983. 3 years on the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, and 2 years at NAS Oceana in VA. Beach. I was a Naval Photographer. Went to Naval photo schools in Pensacola, FL and Sandiego, CA. Made 2 Mediterranean cruises, 1 Caribbean cruise, and spent 6 months in the Indian Ocean back in 1980 during the Iranian hostage crisis.

The first picture is of me recieving an accomodation for shooting pictures in a dangerous situation of an aircraft accident on the flight deck of the Nimitz. Man that was a long time ago. 18 years old....oh my. The second picture is Matthew and I 26 years later.

I did not serve, but I am in a small minority in my family. I greatly appreciate all those who have served, though. (I honor my Father's WWII service via a link in my sig.)
