I've been with Her Majesty's Royal Air Force since 1985 and still going strong. Pleased to say that I've worked alongside the majority of the US armed forces on and off, especially since around 1991. Always made to feel welcome. We go about our work in a very different manner to that of the US forces; I always enjoy the puzzled look on their faces. :rolling:
May our relationship remain strong.

I forgot about my familys history of Military Service. My Great Uncle was in the Royal Air Force, A Bomber Pilot. He died in the last days of WWII to my knowledge.
My Great Grandfather and Grandfather both served in the prestigious Black Watch. The name stems from the Dark Kilts they wear into battle. They have a proud military history from the 1700's to today, as they now fight in Iraq. My Grandfather was stationed in India during World War II. My Great Grandfather, I beileive he is my great grandfather, I'll have to clarify was an Airman as well. In the E Airborne Parachute Regiment.
I'd like to find out more about my familys Blackwatch History. If anyone knows any forums or contact lists that may be helpful in me tracking down more records I'd be incredibly thankful, I've already been looking around for info. Aximsite is a big place though, you never know what you can find out. Thanks in advance.
Hi, this might be a good place to start......... http://www.24hourmuseum.org.uk/museu.../SC000038.html
or probably here............ http://www.theblackwatch.co.uk/newsite/
get in contact with them and I'm sure they will help. Careful though, your life will be taken over with researching :)
Just looked a bit deeper. The last link has a message board which might prove useful. Good luck

USMC.. did bootcamp knee went pop.. I left on the next bus.. now they send a check every month.. Both of my bestfriends served there term.. Ones still in fixing chopper in the middle east. The other is out married and building houses.. I have to say thumbs up to all those service man and woman serving the USA!! I have to say living here in Germany now, when I hear someone make a comment about the military being in the middle east I jump there S**T correcting them, letting them know the military is only following their commander and chief the President of the United States of America. Those men and woman of the armed services have to follow those orders..
