Any NEW video cards coming out?

Just wondering if ATI and Nvidia are releasing any new cards yet or staying with what they have out currently. It's been a while now. Anyone know why they haven't come out with any significantly new cards lately?

I'm going to have to give a shout-out to my boys at ATI, Rockin the Graphics World Canuck Style, Number 1 G. They'll have some fresh product out soon to lay some whoop on Nvidia.

Hear that Jon? Thats the sound of the amount your Nvidia Meds going up.

I was hoping you'd post that.

When Schragsapolooza (Schrags Lan Party) comes to Canada, I'm bringing some kick ass ATI Rigs. Then we'll see Jon Boy.

In some rare situations, a GeForce 4 can beat a 9700 and maybe even a X850 Pro. Due to the way the Linux drivers handle rendering a white screen, my GeForce 4 averaged nearly 1300FPS in Fear Factor 5.11 ("lightning"). The "white flashing" puts very high spikes in the FPS (I've seen over 3000FPS!), bumping up the FPS, even though it averages around 70FPS in a normal scene. In contrast, a 9700 usually gets about 230FPS during the normal scene and only 1000FPS during the "white flashes", because the FPS seems to be capped somehow.
That'd be *very, very* unusual, though. But it's possible.

Someone else has also seen a GeForce 4 beat a X800.

For instance, a ti4200 outpaces an x800 in Linux running UT2k4.
But anyways, nVidia has great Linux drivers.

It's probably because Linux is better suited to OpenGL games, and everyone knows nVidia has vastly better OpenGL implementation than ATi
