So is Xylexian a rare bird or are we all just crazy in stating that Tigerdirect.com is NOT A REPUTABLE company!

They lie. then they said that I couldn't cancel my order because of their lie. And this has happened to alot of people. This company is not reputable. i'm not saying don't buy from them but don't trust them either.

I order on the 24th, 1 day to send to shiper and 3-5 business days to ship. so today or actually yesterday(aug 1) is when i was suppose to get it at the latest. but they sent it to the shipper on the 29th and I wont get it between aug 3-5. I was suppose to get it 28,29, or the first of august. and they wont honor their "1 day to shipper thing" so to me thats dishonest and renders Tigerdirect not a reputable company. imo

eidt: so as of right now i'm just patiently waiting , If I don't get it by the 5th and/or they send me a refurb/used unit I'll be pissed and probaly challange this with my cc company and never use tiger again.

I don't know about Tigerdirect.com, but I bought something from Tigerdirect.ca and I received it in a reasonable amount of time. But with all these stories, I glad there is a physical store nearby that I can go to. I don't think I'll be buying online from them for a while.

Yea, unless you like paying for new stuff and getting refurb units. I use to be one of those guys that "reconditioned refurb" units. We jump wires for cracked boards, etc.

Problems with tigerdirect is that they sometimes dont tell you its a refurb unit or bury the details in very small fine prints. You find out when you get the stuff and then they make it hard to return the item.
Amazon.com was better at that. I got a refurb unit one time and emailed them. They made it pretty easy to return the item although I lost out on paying for shipping.

I have been using them for years too and not a single issue to date and where I work we order from them weekly. If it is refurb it is stated on the website with and asterix or written at the bottom. If you read the whole item description details you can't miss it.

okay I just went thru the page on the unit with a fine tooth comb and there is no indication that this is a refurb. I did notice at the very end of the page that there is a cross shaped astric type thing to indicate the unit being a refurb and I didn't see one on the page(except at the bottom.) does this mean that the unit is a refurb? its on every page, even on the home page(i think its not a refurb)

anyways i have noticed that peps in canada have a good experience with them. Does anyone know where tiger is headquartered? where it started?

i have ordered from tiger direct over 50 times and never once had a problem. Whether from rebates or orders coming in on time. i recommend them to everyone. the first place i look to buy electronics is from them. there shipping is always within 3 days usually 2. very very fast. and everything i have ordered has worked perfectly. Anyway thats my 2 cents. Thanks

I actually had an error on an order from Tiger Direct quite a few years back, I had ordered a PCMCIA modem card for my laptop and they sent me the PC card instead (definately their mistake, not mine). It was from the same company and the part no. was almost identical. They sent me a the correct card along with a prepaid shipping label to return the wrong part the day I made the phone call. While I would recomend that you read the adds carefully to make sure you know what you are ordering, I have never had any other problems with orders, and honestly this one problem I did have gave me more confidence in them, not less.

I thought that tiger was a reputable company but then I went and read some reviews and learned that this is a shady company. Has anyone else had bad experiences with tigerdirect.com
I've been ordering stuff from TigerDirect for a couple of years now (and our company has used them for longer than that) ... never any problems. Great selection, reasonable prices and they always get the stuff to me QUICK. Highly recommended.

I used to buy from them when they were a strict catalog company. If I remember correctly they are headquartered in FL.

I believe that if its a refurb unit, it should state so in BIG LETTERS in the title, not buried in some fine print in ********** that you have to read through.

All they have to say is "Refurb Dell Axim x50V". Then I can decide if I need to read any further. I've gone to sites and read through the entire page to find that its a refurb and ticks me off having to waste all that time.

Granted, its the same BS that car companies use when they lease you a car. They give you the monthly payments in big bold letters but the fine print (e.g. down payment, finance charges, etc) is so small you need a magnifying glass to see.

It came in.

I was thinking the worst possible outcome but it came in perfect(no refurbs) except that the package had a huge bulb sticking out(because my new toy was a little bit bigger than the box) from the packaging that I had ordered but It's all good.

I'm going to seriously contemplate ordering stuff from tiger again. They didn't honor their own policies and then lied to me. If I find a outragious deal and have the time to wait(1 week after their stated shipping time + UPS shipping time) then i could see myself ordering from them again but all of my other orders will be with reputable companies.

I can't put down my new toy
