Getting a new LCD monitor...

Hey, I am selling my 17" Apple LCD to get a 20 inch dell widescreen lcd monitor. . . they look pretty nice, my buddy's dad has one and its just sweet. I seen that I can get it for around $390 to $450. Is there any other LCD monitors they would recommend ( at least 20") that is around the same price or lower? The main reason I am getting a new monitor is because this monitor I have now only has ADC connector ( Power, USB, and DVI in one cable ) and therefore not supporting any of my other computers besides my mac G4 tower and I am upgrading my video card soon and it will not have the ADC port on it. Does anyone have some suggestions? thanks

Go with the Dell 20.1" monitor. The response time is amazing for the size (in this price range at least) of this monitor. The black levels are great on it, as well as the colors being very accurate. The stand is pretty nice too, as far as adjustability goes.

I don't have one personally, but have seen one in action. I've been keeping my eye on it for awhile, but have other priorities right now financially. I don't think you'd be disappointed though!

Jordan is right. I have a Dell 2001FP at home and we also use them (hundreds) as standard screens at work. These monitors are of consistently high manufacturing quality. No dead pixels, even brightness, acceptable colors. Great and even sharpness, a great relief on the eyes. Fast enough for even fast games. Many input and output ports. It may cost 100 bucks more than you planned to spend but I honestly suspect that those $390 to $450 20" LCDs will be inferior.

Actually, "those $390 to $450 20" LCDs" that he is referring to ARE the Dell 2005FPW screens (widescreen version). It's been listed on numerous discount sites in recent weeks as low as $360 after coupons and discount codes. Now it's back up to the $500+ range, as it is the beginning of a new quarter for Dell. It'll be back down though. :)
