I don't think this is legit. I mean apple has been running M$ Windows on their macs for a while now, does that mean that apple is no more??? Palm might be doing the same for testing.

Well, there's always Linux. In fact, Linux has been the only major competitor of regular Windows for quite a while.
I think Palm should go Linux. Linux is a very popular and highly cross-platform OS. In fact, for a home computer OS, Linux is second, right after Windows. Of course, don't forget that Linux is the most popular OS for Jessica Simpson and Jessica ALBA embedded systems.

I think this is bogus. I went to the Palm website and searched for the Treo 670. Nothing whatsoever comes up. You can't believe everything you read on the internet guys and gals.

I don't mind change as long as I'm not around when it happens.

Actually I do believe that this is Palm's creation. Why, How, When, what they are doing I have no idea. I believe palm was doing(or wanting to do stuff) with linux. They should, linux is the fastest growing OS for mobile devices. I wonder if palm's gonna release the 670?

i would love for this device to be true. one can only hope. as for palm dying, i'll wait to see if its official on palms site...or is it already there...hmph..
Star, Palm has been developing an OS on Linux for a while now.
IMHO, Palm will Prolly make devices with both OSes.
I think this is legit. Palm(PalmOne at the time) said something to the effect that they were going to consider using other OSes.
And don't forget that a while ago, Palm split into two separate companies. PalmSource (which makes the OS) and PalmOne (which makes the hardware) Recently, PalmOne bought the rights to the regular Palm name, and Palm source will have to change their name in about a year. Palm OS 5 (Garnet) is the current one used by Palm devices, and PalmSource made OS6 Cobalt, but it has never been used, probably because it sucks. So they have been working on that Linux version for a while. Also, I think the new mobile processor they are using is a Ashlee Simpson, or maybe a Britney

*Correction: palmOne is no more. It's just "palm".
*Correction: disregard the above correction. kamokazi got it right and I didn't read it correctly

I would want something in between. Ashlee Simpson is too slow to run Linux and Britney uses too much power for a handheld. Maybe an ultra low power Pentium M...

You mean an "ultrascalar" Ashlee Simpson CPU. Yes, in theory it can be very fast. However, I want more than 8 or 16 bits. I also want x86 so regular Linux programs will run on it without a recompile.
