Good find. I scanned my system and don't have cool web search, but it's scary anyway. Thanks, Frenchie.

Why don't they just outlaw spyware?

In Canada a new law is in place as a first step to fight it.

Making things illegal does not make them go away.

They did.

Speeding is not legal, but people still do it. Murder is not legal, but people still do that as well.

Making a law against something does not stop it from happening. In some cases it even increases the frequency.

Laws are pointless if they can't be enforced.

No no no. Re-read Star's post and my response. Spyware was made illegal, not posting on Aximsite.

I am not a computer genius, but I saw this one listed in PCWorld or CNET I think. http://www.bluesecurity.com/ has a fight back method that just chews up the spammer's bandwidth. I guess it is similar to the Lycos screen saver antispam tool that was out a few months ago.

Also forthe website developers out there, check out WPoison which generates fake addresses for the crawlers out there. http://www.monkeys.com/wpoison/

It'd be nice if someone made a "fake spyware against spyware". It should pretend to be a key logger or something like that and give the spyware creators pseudo random junk.
BTW, I just installed the bluesecurity client. Let's use the power of distributed computing to fight spam!

I'm using Blue Security. Haven't seen that much of a reduction, but I am trying to flood....er forward them as much spam as possible.

Also Blue Security is a anti-spam, not anti-Spyware.
