Cool Poll: Developing for PPC

I was just wondering how many people on Aximsite are developers, or are interested in developing their own applications for PPC. I, for one, am interested, but have not yet done anything significant.

Likewise, nothing of note. A few C programs but nothing I even use now.

I did some work w/eVB. I found there was no real manual and the program is just different enough from VB6 that it was a little tricky. I made simple progs, but connecting to databases was challenging.

I wish that visual basic had easier API's to access. With Java (the language I was taught in school) the API's are so easy to access and learn about, but with VB, it seems like everything is hidden. And of course, they changed the language from VB 6 to .net...so I really don't know the language well anymore at all.

I am a developer on PC platform, never done any development on PPC. I don't think PC and PPC development is much different, but I haven't really found the time to do any PPC development.

I've done the programs listed at the page linked in my signature. I actually do more PPC programming than PC programming, though I do some UNIX stuff with school.

I'm busy these days after working on the VGA version of vBar, but someday soon I'll get back to update Radar Watch and Playlist Editor. Plus I have a few other things in development, including a game I may not ever finish.

I am in need of someone to write a simple (I think/I hope) program for the PocketPC. If interested, please contact me.

i recommend this book
and this website, both of which helped me greatly with an evb database prog that i'm working on. make sure to create an accound on dEVBuzz, otherwise it's hard to find what you're looking for...

I worked as a PPC software developer for over 4 years before my current job programming on Symbian. Love to go back to do PPC programming again.

Matilda444, what do you have in mind? I'd like to hear about it.

Developing is just the word used to describe the process one goes through to design, write, and test an application
