I can only assume that the materials were removed for two reasons.
Moved to ensure it could not fall into the wrong hands.
Moved for testing to find out where it came from.
Does it really matter why it was removed, not really? I am glad it was removed; I hope that they find who provided it by testing, which does seem like this is on going. The fact remains it was there and we did everyone a favor by taking it upon ourselves for removal. I would rather have it somewhere else, and if people want it that badly, I say they can have the stuff. But from the common sense point of view I would say it is the above reasons.
Don't you get tired of being wrong?
:)
The US didn't ask the UN for permission to go to war.
The US asked the UN to enforce consequences for Iraq's non-compliance of resolution 1441. http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/02/05/spr...ll.transcript/
And was resolution 1441 about disarming Iraq of its WMDs?
No it was not.
Resolution 1441 was about Iraq proving that it had already disarmed itself of its WMDs. http://www.state.gov/p/nea/rls/15016.htm
That 'single shell' of Sarin is proof-positive that Iraq had not complied.
The resolution also encompassed about 9 prior resolutions and therefore also included all of the topics included in the US resolution that I posted above: removing WMDs, proving that they had removed WMDs, repatriating citizens, ending human rights violations, cutting ties to terrorism,.... it's all there.
Hardly throwing stuff against the wall unless you want to accuse the UN of the same.
Well you can argue semantics if you like, but you still agree with me that the primary reason for going to war was the eradication (or proof of eradication) of the WMDs. WMDs which clearly have not been found.
The single shell doesn't prove anything. I didn't see any evidence that it had not been bought in from somewhere else. Circumstantial at the very very best.
But I'm glad that at least we agree that the war was started under false pretenses (stockpiles of WMDs that did not exist). Sure they achieved some of their secondary objectives, but the clear and imminent WMD danger (anyone remember the 45 minute claim?) has been accepted as being untrue.
The US took matters into their own hands in defiance of the UN security council to remove the imminent risk of WMDs.

Hey the iraqi's had propane tanks! Clearly they were planning on making Fuel Air Bombs to destroy our democracy and freedom. And what about all those kitchen utensils found in almost every Iraqi household? How can you doubt they were being stored for future use of terrorists assasination squads. It's all becoming clear to me now...

Best relpy I've seen yet. Now we are getting to the truth.
you can thank the coalition for not worrying about iraqi wmds
What coalition? We as Americans were lied to about the reasons for war, that said the troops over there need our support. The WMD thing is an old story....let's concetrate on the people in Gulf here that need our help, not the other Gulf which didn't need it in the first place.
'Nuff Said.

I'm out of this debate; we have gone from simple logic and opinions to non-sense, bias, and nonobjective remarks. I respect everyone's comments, however I prefer a great debate based on facts and not speculation. I love a good theory if it has some basis. Sorry guys I just can't take it, or I'll open my big mouth, and that would be no good. People have become too political… …So I guess I need to run for president in the future!
The gulf coast is in trouble right now, gulf coast of mexico.
from what I have heard, 80% of new orleans is under water, 30,000 people sheltered in the dome(stadium) have been evacuated out into the streets(90degree weather, 100% humidity, no water, no food, no medicine, no help) Looting is out of control. Gangs of armed looters(they looted gun stores to get guns) having shootouts with police. 1 police officer was shot in the head. The looters broke into a barackated childrens hospital to loot drugs,.... all while police did nothing
Dead bodies in the water, sewer water mixed in with all the other water, sanitation is horrible, Coffins washing up on beaches, People are still stranded and need evacuation,.... I mean it goes on and on.
WHERE IS THE GOVERNMENT? President Bush and the state and local governments aren't doing what needs to be done. We have helicopters, boats, dogs, on and on. But people are still dieing from dehydration, sickness,.... Why can't our government air drop, parachaute, helicopter supplies, water, clothing, medicine, ... ???????? This Governemnt has their backs turned to the people on the gulf coast, the people who need help from everyone the most. This is pathetic. Our governemnt Isn't doing enough to help. We have the tech, we have the resources, the supplies, the logistics, We have the ability to help ease the suffering BUT THIS GOVERNMENT WONT DO IT.
I support the war on terror, but our own is being left out in the wind to twist, It is our responsibility to look after our neighbors, In peace or in a time of war.
People we need to help, I have donated 50 bucks and gonna go get some water to send down their too, and i'm gonna go through some old clothes. I heard somewhere that 16-17 countries have donated to help, and that is great, the people on the gulf coast needs it alot.
this is serious folks, I think i heard somewhere that this is the worst natural disaster to hit america, our government is slow to craw out of their hole to react to this so we the people have to help.
