For those of you who think that the US never found any WMD's in Iraq

Heard this on the radio today and checked it out

http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/i...-uranium_x.htm
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles...e.asp?ID=14295

2 tons of low enriched uranium
2000 radioactive sources.

this is ingredients for making a dirty bomb/nuclear weapon.

But i'm not to sure about the second site. It's conservative and has this pic. you judge for yourself.(the first site is reputable so you can trust it if you want)

Massachusetts has more than 2 tons of low enriched uranium and way more than 2000 radioactive sources lying around. It comes from being part of an industriazed society. Heck MIT has it's own nuke plant.

These things are not WMDs. Had we found any of these things embedded in plastique or even wrapped around a stick of dynamite thhen you could say WMDs were found.

JMJSelect> Did you read the article? It's a pretty fantastic leap to make that this is proof of WMDs.

well if I found beer on you, is it safe for me to say that you are looking for a good time?

Iraq has no nuclear power plants, it wasn't planning to either. this uranium was for 1 purpose WMDs.

Saddam was in pocession of uranium, what do you think he was gonna do?

*edit: plus we found artilery shells designed to hold chemical and/or biological weapons.

what do you think he was planning to do?

I believe the biggest WMD was found hiding in a hole in the ground.

I don't understand why you're posting links to news articles from 13 months ago.

here's a better way to explain it.

okay this happened in a high school in my county a while ago.
a kid sold a gun to another kid. the only interaction they had together was at that school. so they thought that they would play it safe so the kid(seller) brought it to school broken up into different parts, and he brought them a piece a day. well the other kid(seller) was searched and the gun part was found. He and the other kid were prosecuted for gun possesion, even though it wasn't the whole gun. And some of the parts were never found.

we have found uranium, warheads that could carry chemical/biological agents, aluminum tubes used to manufactor weapons grade uranium, labs,...

We haven't found a working wmd but we have found "KEY" components of wmds. that to me equals finding wmds.

look you can go on and on about not finding a actual working wmd bur the fact is that saddam either had wmds and got rid of them or he was very close to a working wmd.

What about the Saren Shells found?
What about the Mig-29 that russia "did not sell them" according to the embargo found buried in the sand?
What about the missles capable of hitting Israel and Kuwait?
And all the parts for alot of nasty stuff?
on and what about the hard drives missing from Iraqi Government computers?

you know i am gonna laugh when some big bad dictator is breathing down the rest of the worlds neck. And the US just says good luck to all of you, we are sitting this one out.

Just thought I'd pop in to say that I am keeping to my pledge to not post anything political on this site ... for now. :approve:

Let's face it guys/gals ... debates on this subject are pretty pointless. Neither "side" will change their opinion. Kinda like discussing the "a" word -- pro-lifers and anti-lifers will never agree! Oh heck, I just made a political statement!

MiG-25 and Su-25 attack jets in 2003.
Mustard gas in April of this year.
Sarin in May of this year.
The pile of straws is larger than you're willing to believe.

One can not argue with people who still believe those WMDs existed.

I'm more worried about aerosol dispersion devices than I am about WMDs. If someone contaminated a major intersection in your city what would you do?
I've got scarier things to worry about than Iraqi WMDs.
