Firefox v1.5 Beta RC1 available

http://www.mozilla.org/products/fire.../1.5beta1.html

The first Release Candidate for the new version. This beta combines the advances of DeerPark branch with the mainstream Firefox brand. Final version should be complete by yearend.

Best to do a clean install. After downloading, simply uninstall your old version, it saves your settings, profiles and bookmarks, then install the new download.

Remember, this is just the first public beta, looks fairly stable but still has bugs and there will be frequent nightly builds.

Note you may lose your profiles, do a backup, and your extensions may not work until their developers update them.

Here are some of the new features -

* Automated update to streamline product upgrades
* Faster browser navigation with improvements to back and forward button performance
* Drag and drop reordering for browser tabs
* Improvements to popup blocking
* Clear Private Data feature provides an easy way to quickly remove personal data through a menu item or keyboard shortcut
* Answers.com is added to the search engine list
* New support for Web Standards including SVG, CSS 2 and CSS 3, and JavaScript 1.6
* Many security enhancements

Ebay has also been added to the search, sweet!!!

I downloaded it after you posted it, and have only really been on aximsite since then.

Wish I still had the extentions and themes though.

Thanks :approve:

i think ebay was already in it, it seems fairly stable, i have seen some issues with it locking up if i have to many windows open, and sometimes it can be somewhat sluggish, but then it is just a beta, and pretty good for a beta at that.

Definitely a little slower than 1.06, but worth it, especially now that my fave skin has been upgraded (Walnut) and the release today of Thunderbird 1.5 Beta 1 - http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/

I've been using the new beta version for about three days now. I haven't seen a bug yet. I used to restart the last version of Firefox about every three days or so because it would crash. Even though this is a beta, I think it works great--so far.
