I would never leave my cable services. Whenever I am at my friends house and it rains (a daily event here in FL) she looses signal or it isn't a clean signal. I laugh whenever this happens at the local sports bar because they chose satellite. Plus, our internet is superfast. I don't have a landline, but if I did I would use our cable for that, too.

Perhaps it's changed, but last time I looked there was no way to record an HD show in HD either. Blah. What good is it to watch CSI in HD if I have to watch the commercials?

I've got DIsh Network. They were cheaper for the same set-up and channel subscription (4 room, 2 tuner 80 hour DVR, 1 basic receiver, and 1 High-Def receiver).

If you want international channels, check them both. Iwas able to get an asian channel that my wanted that was not offered through Direct TV.

I don't think one is better than the other, it just depends on what channels you want when deciding what system to choose.

If it wasn't for the international channels I would stick with cable. No outages like satellite and no dish to clutter your house or yard.

As for one being more professional than the other: I don't see how you can say one is better than the other. I get great customer service through Dish and never had any screw-ups with billing.

I have had cable, dish network, and currently have Direc TV. Dish Network - Didn't like the service
Cable - great all around, especially for net surfing and gaming
Direct TV - best for TV watching in my view.

I have DirecTV right now because that is all that I have access to, no cable service. I also have DWAY because I cannot get DSL, Cable, or wireless Internet. THE LAG TIME SUCKS!

Other then that I am happy. Now if only I could get DSL or Cable service for my Internet.
