RSSI values in wififofum

Hello everyone. I've started using wififofum and dont quite understand what the RSSI values mean. Why are they negative numbers? Which values indicate a strong or weak signal? Have I just overlooked a good explanation in my search? If so where can I get more info so I know what this utility is telling me? Thanks in advance. BTW, Im using an rx3115 and the latest stable version of wififofum.

A good connectable signal should be in the -70's

-60's is really sweet
-80's means you heard a router scream at you from really far away, better luck next time
