HELP! Can't remove SENOA driver
I installed the Linksys driver that came with WCF12 but it didn't work. I suspect it won't since I read the forum before buying the card but I just want to make sure.

I then downloaded the senoa drivers and installed it. It doesn't work either. Now I want to uninstall the senoa drivers but it says \Windows\WLANIOC.dll is in use or running or read only.

How do I remove it?

Rename the file to something else, do a soft reset, then remove the Senoa driver. You can manually delete the renamed file later.

drbob - I did that. Thanks. Now, the driver is gone but it is still showing up under Start->Settings->Connections->Wireless Ethernet

802.11b Wireless LAN PC Card

The above appeared when I installed the Senoa card. I tried to delete it from the registry but it says permission denied.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Comm/WLANNDS1

Ok... I just renamed it and I could delete it from the registry.

Ok... now the question is how do I install the Senoa drivers properly? I downloaded the WLAN_ForWinCENET400.zip and installed that. When prompted for a device name, I entered WLANNDS.DLL

Still did not work. Linksys card doesn't blink. No led, nothing.

Maybe I can try the beta drivers. I saw the thread on Brighthand about the beta drivers but I've to put my e-mail address and wait for someone to mail me the drivers. Is the driver posted anywhere on the net?

I would like to get this working tonight

Ok, am trying to remove the Senao drives and get the same error that the \Windows\WLANIOC.dll file is in use or read-only.
I have gone to the \Windows directory with File Explorer to rename the file and I do not see WLANIOC.dll. I have done a search for the file and it is not found. I have done a soft reset and still can not remove the drivers. I must be missing something.

I got the Senoa drive out of my system by doing a hard-reset. Sometimes you need to use a slug hammer. It gave me the opportunity to clean up the system anyway.
I installed the beta Linksys drivers and it is working good. Now if I can get the A05 patch, I will be set. Maybe next week.

Because there hasn't been a reply since 2003!

I'am having this same problem with my hp ipaq 2210 and linksys wcf12.
I have had this configuration working on my ipaq 2210, but it's to difficult to get it to work again. I have 2 ipaq 2210, and I have 2 WCF12 card's. both are not working!!

I did not do anything with this for 3 years now. Now it's sunday, bad weather and was wondering if I could get it to work again! Already spend 3 hours on it. still no luck.

But to get the WLANIOC.dll removed, you just rename it in explorer, reset and then you can delete it.

very old trick
