My question to Samsung:
I have attempted, with O2's data suport function, to set up a bluetooth connection to allow my PDA to use my D500 as a modem to access the internet via GPRS.
The settings given me by O2 work for an infrared connection, but the same settings put in for the bluetooth connection produce the message on my browser "the page you are looking for cannot be found", although the bluetooth icon on the phone flashes red, showing that communication between the phone and the PDA is taking place and the GPRS icon appears, indicating that there is a GPRS connection.
Equally if I try to make a GSM connection via bluetooth, the phone dials up the ISP, connects with it, but the "the page you are looking for cannot be found" message appears on the browser. If I use the same settings on my infrared connection, the PDA is able to browse on the internet via the GSM connection.
The PDA is properly paired with the D500 by bluetooth and I have sent contact data from the phone to the PDA and from the PDA to the phone by bluetooth.
Is this a fault common to all D500s, or is it just my phone that is faulty?
Samsung's response:
"With reference to your query regarding connecting the D500 to your PDA,
we are unable to provide with assistance as Samsung does not support the
connection of phones to PDA devices.

I hope this has been of some assistance to you.If you do have any
further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards
James"
Thank you, Samsung. Anybody any bright ideas out there?
Mel
PS After a certain amount of argy-bargy, O2 has agreed that they will have the phone back. On offer instead are the Motorola V3 and the Nokia 3230, 6822 and 6230i.
