Oh, you figured that out while I was checking the Linksys manual. I really have no experience with WPA. I still have PPCs I want to connect that do not have the capability so I've never bothered figuring out the different versons of WPA.

If you add a static IP address make sure it is either below or above the range set in the router. For example if your router is set to assign IP addresses from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.150 set the static IP address at something like 192.168.1.50. This will at least avoid any future conflicts. I learned the hard way.

BTW - I have not received my Axim 51v yet so I'm reading this thread with interest.

Hello, I'm following all the previous posting to see if I can learn ,
No avail.... on the ppc I've got a good signal, got connected, settings are : open, disable, got a MAC, got the nET mask, NO GATEWAY, got the IP. Still Ican't get connected to the net. Please

The Gateway (and DNS) on a home wireless is typically the router's IP. When you say you 'got the IP,' does the number start 192.168? Anything else, post back what number is being assigned.

In the meanwhile, disable the Powersave function in the WLAN and check for a firmware upgrade for your router.
