Wireless internet on X51v

I just got my X51v today and have som trouble setting up the internet conection.

I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router, and my laptopr is conected wierless to that ant internet works fine on my laptop.
I an however not able to access internet on my X51V. I have managed to set up the network, and my X51v reports that I'm conected to my network (green bars in the botom rtght of the today screen.)

But, when I start Internet Explorer, it says it cannot connect with the current settings. If I click on the settings link I just get a windows with links to set up modems and VPNs.

Does anyone have a simple step by step guide to getting the Axim online wirelessly?

In eh WLAN utility under advance it does not get any network info (IP adress gateway, net mask)

Does anybody know what could be wrong?

If you're broadcasting the wireless on g and the PDA has only b, it won't work. You'll need to make sure that the router is set to broadcast b/g.

I don't know if your router has that setting, but mine does.

Just figured out that the wireless does not work properly when the device is in the cradle. When I took it out I got an IP adress and everything! :) I can even se that my Axim is on the net usin the look@Lan program on my PC.

But, my problem stil remains, starting PIE or MSN I still can't connect to the internet! Same errormessage as before...

Are there any settings in PIE I have to change?

Try going into the network settings - Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Connections, Set up my Proxy server. On the Proxy server tab, check the top box (This network connects to the Internet) but leave everything else on this page blank. On the General tab, the name should be "My Work Network." OK and then select the Advanced (tab), Select Networks and select "My Work Network" from both of the pull down lists.

Check your router admin settings to make sure you don't have other users blocked. If you can see the device you should be able to add it to your "allow" list - depending on how you're setup.

And if you have WEP enable make sure you have entered your key if you have set one.

Can someone advise me on my wifi problem.
I am using XDA Mini O2 with spectec wifi card. My home wireless is on Speedtouch 570 wireless modem.
I used to be able to surf on my mini but recently it got intermittent with connection and till this week, I totally could not connect to the network. The pda simply does not detect my network as available. It could detect other network around my house but not mine! I could see my network in the list but it is unavailable.
I have tried the methods suggested in the links by deleting the DOMAIN field and soft resetting but to no avail.
It is driving me crazy, I will be getting my new X51v next week and i hope this is not going to happen to my AXIM, cos my main purpose of buying it is to surf on it...

Any help will be much appreciated...
thanks.

Try changing the channel on the router. It may be one of the other networks you're seeing is interfering. Use 1, 6 or 11.

just tried that ... din work either...

One observation, i could always see an "invisible network" (i.e. no SSID) that is available.
