Hello all ! My network setup is a little complicated and I have a problem connecting to the wired network from my ppc. If someone knows the solution I would really appreciate it or if you could direct me somewhere to find more information on the subject.

My network setup:

Wired LAN: Two desktops and a laptop with Ethernet cables using a hub/switch connected my adsl modem (192.168.1.x, 255.255.255.0).

Desktop 1 – ‘server’ wifi pci card (Linksys) to my pda (dell axim x50v).
Desktop 2 - tv card streaming tv with Microsoft Windows Media Encoder
Laptop

Wireless Network:
X50v to Desktop 1 ‘server’ (192.168.0.x, 255.255.255.0).


Wired LAN: Connect to the internet, share files, stream tv, etc…
Wireless Network: From ppc I can reach the internet and all files from Desktop 1 ‘server’ which has the wifi card.

The problem:

I cannot reach Desktop 2 from my ppc. I cannot see the shared files and I cannot reach the streaming tv. The ppc can only get to the 192.168.0.x part of my network. It is like having to separate networks. Is this normal? Please advise me.

I will post an update to this, because maybe someone finds it useful in the future. I could be wrong but it seems that the thing I was looking for is called ‘network bridge'. Windows XP provides this in the network options. However I am afraid that this can cause a slowdown to the network.
What I decided to do was to order a wireless access point that I connected to my wired network through the hub/switch. It is a Linksys WAP54G and it worked straight away ! I then setup the encryption and mac filtering and everything works fine. My network is cleaner this way and I have better wifi range to all of my house !
