the dlink dcf-660w driver set available now has a built in scanner to detect ap and set profiles for aps so that you can maintain multiple connections (I store my home lan, school and work). Simply select the profile, the ssid and any wep settings are saved. the only down side i have seen is at school, when the lease on the ip expires, i need to delete and add the profile back. i could probably go into the reg and change the ip manually, but its easier to scan and add the profile in again. i have little time for war drive, but when in an area mall i always scan for aps and, being in the network business, i kindly let them know they aren't secure if there's no wep...
