Accessing files via wifi?

I am having trouble accessing the files, namely mp3's.

I have a X51v connecting via Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router.
Using File Explorer and Total Commander I am able to see my files on my host PC. Using Total Commander I tried to play the files using WMP, but I get an error in WMP "The parameter is incorrect".
Anyone have any suggestions?
I have not tried any 3rd party music software yet. I want to make sure I don't have a problem in my connections first.

I tried to set up a streamcast using Windows Media encoder, but my Axim wouldn't connect. Any help there would be appreciated too.
Thanks

did you try to use total commander to play the file ? just use total commander to map the shared drive then with total commander still running open windows media player and navigate the same way you did in total commander to find the file then play it with wmp. File explorer that came on your pda will do the same as total commander also.

Yeah total commander shoul work. Resco file explorer also works. If your mp3s still don't play, make sure their not DRM protected. if they are then you wont be able to play them lver wifi

How can you tell if they're DRM protected? and how to up-protect them? I get error msg "The parameter is incorrect" everytime over wifi, but if I copy the file to my ppc, I can play it no problem.

Point blank a, if you copy and it plays then its not DRM protected. Also I would STRONGLY suggest TCPMP. I tried the same thing in WMP, and no nothing. Did it in TCPMP and there we go. I don't know what it is about WM10, it just doesn't like files played over Wi-Fi. Hey also take a look at

www.orb.com

Pretty cool if your not at home, but get Wi-Fi somewhere else.

Well, I guess they need to upgrade WMP 10 with their upgrade after the upgrade! LOL
I tried GSplayer...got it working, no problem. Will I need TCPMP for orb.com or will GSplayer stream? Plug-in maybe?
Thanks 4 the help guys, ya'll R great! :approve:

nah, unfourtnatley I can only get ORB to work in WMP....
Ironic much??? :)

Anywho did you look at what it can do??
I thought it was pretty cool. It even works with BT enabled phones when you dialed up through that. For christmas you should ask for one of the compatible TV tuners.
