Question Infrared and okia 6310i

Hi everyone
I have a Nokia 6310i phone and would like to connect to the Axim via infrared to collect email. I have managed the Axim to recognise the telephone, no problem. The problem arises when it tells me the telephone number is not answering. If I connect via the PC and infrared, using the same settings and telephone number I can collect my mail OK. Is there something I am missing.

Also, the PC connects to the Axim via infrared but will not sustain the connection. There is no movement between Irda ports, no obstructions.

Ideas would be most welcome.

Thanks

David

You can download the software from Nokia and/or your cell provider.

Also..to dial into the "instant internet" - GPRS - you need to dial " *99***1# "

IMHO...IR sucks! You have to line up both devices etc. not really all that portable. I suggest you bust with about 50-75 bucks and buy like a Belkin CF Bluetooth card, since this phone is already BT capable.

I have this set up and it is awesome! Phone in pocket walking thru mall/airport/office checking email/surfing the net! truly portable

I also posted a review on this site of some software called "connect2internet" It makes the whole setup that much easier to set up!

Load the software to your axim, select your phone, select your cell service provider, done! It also integrates SMS "text" messages. Phone and axim work as if they are "one"! Truly remarkable.

Good Luck!
