OOPS! Can't find the Dell WLAN Utility Driver

After running SKTools to "clean up" my PPC, I may have deleted something that I shouldn't have. Tried a restore, but didn't help. The Dell WLAN Utility doesn't accept my command to "Enable Radio". If I select Tools/Version Info, it appears that the Dell WLAN Utility driver can't be found, and screen shows "Wireless Card Not Available". My Wireless client used to work fine. Any suggestions???

Was the restore from back when it was working ok? then it should restore. Last resort... it should go back to normal after a hard reset.

Just tried an old backup that from about 2 weeks prior to the problem, but problem presist. Oh well.... looking at a hard reset tommorow.

Lesson learned -- be more careful when using a utility app like SKTools.

Thanks for the response.

Workaround fix to enable WLAN driver & adapter

I too have run into this problem where the driver and adapter diappeared, therefore the wifi adapter would not "enable". Been working on this for a day or so, searching the web and forums, but before I was about to do a hard reset I fixed it by doing the following:

1) Opened Resco File Explorer (the regular File Explorer will probably work too)

2) Open the Windows folder under My Device

3) Open the AppButtons folder

4) Click (or double click) the WirelessPower.ink item in the folder

That will somehow re-engage all the drivers and wireless adapters, both bluetooth and wifi on mine. After that, since my hard buttons are messed up right now, I use the Dell WLAN to "enable radio" through the menu.

I can say a Me too...my Wireless was working and I was messing around with Bluetooth and think I have it working somewhat.
But now, my wireless card will not load the driver. I have enabled and disabled wireless numerous times, but still will not load driver. This is a X51v.

Can Bluetooth and Wifi be enabled at same time? All I am trying to do is conenct to my Work network.

Ooppss..never mind, suddenly it connected to my home network. But am still wondering if I can have Bluetooth enabled at same time?

Yes, you can have bluetooth and wifi enabled.

Just remember:
Wifi makes the green light blink in the top right of your axim.
Bluetooth makes the blue light blink.
Both make the light go, blue, green, blue, green, etc.
