Axim Proxy setup has a mind of it own.

I am having a very weird problem that I am hoping that someone could help me with.

You see I only have Dialup available in my area. No high speed.

So I use a Proxy Accelerator to help speed up my connections while I am surfing the web on my Desktop computer.
My connections are either 26.4 or 28.8 and that it! Don’t asked me what I think about SBC

. Hopefully since AT&T had taken them over that things will improve.

My Internet ISP is Netscape. The price is right at $10.00 a month and they offer a free Web Accelerator.

My Desktop setting for the Proxy is 127.0.0.1 Port 5400

Now Here is my problem.

On my Axim X50v I use an adhoc wireless connections for my home network.

Going to Start / Setting / Connections / Edit my proxy Connections

I have checked [This network connects to the Internet]
I have uncheck [This network use a proxy server to connect to the Internet.]

When it is setup this way I can surf the web from my PDA with no problems.

However for some reason my Axim X50v has checked the [This network use a proxy server to connect to the Internet.] and putting in the proxy setting. It shows the Proxy service is 127.0.0.1:5400 and socks 127.0.0.1:1080

I do not know how or why it is getting these setting. With these setting in my Axim I can no longer connect to the internet using pie or anything else.

I go to this area and uncheck it and everything start working again.

Soft reset does not do this. I use the wireless icon at the bottom of the today screen to turn off and on my wireless network and I believe that somehow that is what is turning the proxy setting on.

I HATE IT WHEN COMPUTERS THINK!

Some more info. In my settings / connections / advanced area
Under Select Networks tab
My Work Network is selected in both pull down tabs.
